Our group's topic is Oral Health in West Virginia and our audiences are the parents and children of the state of West Virginia. The first model for our blog that I found to interesting was a blog called Dr.Bicuspid.com . This website has up to date news about dental care. The taps at the top include a variety of things like education, videos, opinions, forums, and others. The reason that I think this model is helpful because it is like a much larger scale version of what we trying to do which is educate. The variety of options at the site allows readers to find what they need easily. When you put the mouse over the tab a drop down of other subtopics. The site is very user friendly which I think is important when setting up a site for education.
The second website model is a blog by a dentist called Ask Dr.Spindel. This is a different look on how to present information. Unlike the previous model this is a blogspot blog. It will look most similar to the blog we will be creating therefore making it a great reference to how our website will look. The dentist who set this up made it very basic. He answers questions that curious people ask about dentist or dentistry in general. This aspect could be used in a part of our website but as the main theme. I still believe that a news setup for our main page would suit our topic and audience best.

Reading Response
10/12/10 Reading Response
The reading about writing a screenplay was helpful in making sure to point out not only what to put in the screenplay but also what not to put in the screenplay. It was clear in making sure that writers write their script to fit a movie format. The audience is going to watching the narrative so the screenplay should be written so people can get the story by watching it. Telling the story is a complete misuse of the movie or narrative tools. In movies, it is the job of the creatures to use characters to tell the story by the way they act and what they say. People are drawn to good movies by the way the character acts. The best characters and stories are told when people are allowed to infer the messages. With the limited amount of tools it will be difficult to do that but for the story a basic use of the tools could be used to show that I have at least an understanding of how a movie should tell a story. I took from the reading that the story itself should take an equal level of importance with the characters because that is what hooks an audience. Another aspect to harp on when writing a screenplay should be the conflict. Conflicts can range from physical struggles between the protagonist and antagonist or the conflict can be inside the main character’s head. Creating conflicts and character development in a short movie with limited editing manipulation is difficult but the basics are there to do it. After reading this I know that I have to create the most interesting main character that I can. Right now the idea is to use the dodge ball as the main character. The problem is how to make the character out a dodge ball with the limited technology.
